Notes on the Winter 2022, Lot 1158 (sold out):
This winter Lot 1158 marks a departure from the 88k garden we previously worked with up to this past spring’s Lot 1143. Unfortunately, the 88k garden is no longer producing tea and is now concentrating exclusively on its orchard activities. There’s no question the recent year’s pandemic turmoil and China tensions have left their mark but we’ve decided to make this turn of events into an opportunity and redirected our attention to a garden not far, 2 km further away from the Lishan Village limits. This 90K garden is on the same eastern slope of the Lishan range as the previous 88K garden and is planted with younger, more vigorous bushes. We are definitely in the same lineage in terroir and resulting taste profile but with added richness that is quite alluring. The higher theanine and soluble nitrogen content contributes in heightening the compelling exotic sweetness of this tea. It is truly a unique tea coming from a uniquely rich soil and growing in the best natural conditions one can find. From the very clear and bright, golden yellow liquor will emanate an intricately flowery fragrance that is both sweet and exotic. You will also be rewarded with cup after cup of full bodied, mellow hints of exotic fruits with heady lilac notes. Very generous and very rewarding! This Lot 1158 is picked on the second of production from the highest section of the garden. It will not disappoint fans of the 88K garden! We believe this is a superior candidate to all the others produced in that range and certainly one that should be considered if you wish to experience this elusive terroir. Don’t delay in ordering your requirements as we anticipate selling this one out very quickly!
Notes on the Spring 2022, Lot 1143 (sold out):
This tea originates from a garden at the the 88K mark of the famous No. 8 Road leading to Lishan. The garden sits just outside the Lishan Village limits as you arrive from Dayuling. This is why this small section is trying to recapture the high lustre of the Dayuling name and promote themselves as Dayuling teas. We prefer to let the name Dayuling rest in peace as it is no longer a reality and should remain a past reference. Still, this spring 2022 offering delivers what all Lishan (and past Dayuling) enthusiasts expects: it is a true, authentic representative of this elusive and intriguing terroir. Owing to the particular climate and terroir, this tea is rich in catechin which reduced the bitter and harsh elements in the liquor. The higher theanine and soluble nitrogen content contributes in heightening the compelling exotic sweetness of this tea. It is truly a unique tea coming from a uniquely rich soil and growing in the best natural conditions one can find. With the more favourable growing conditions of Spring 2022, it’s a must try for all oolong enthusiast. From the very clear and bright, golden yellow liquor will emanate an intricately flowery fragrance that is both sweet and exotic. You will also be rewarded with cup after cup of full bodied, mellow hints of exotic fruits (high mountain pears are grown amongst the rows of tea) with heady lilac notes. Very generous and very rewarding! This Lot 1143 is from the highest section fo the garden picked on the third day of production. Like all of our spring 2022 Lishan offerings, we believe this is a superior candidate to all the others produced in that range and certainly one that should be considered if you wish to experience this elusive terroir. Don’t delay in ordering your requirements as we anticipate selling this one out very quickly!

An incredible tea!
It’s a vibrant green color, deeply fragrant, subtle and complex, and simply fantastic!
I find myself choosing to brew it over other teas most days, because it is so alive and delicious.
