This beautiful little ceremonial urn is the work of another craftsman from the greater Taichung area. His name is Zhi Long. His work is a little more ornate in the detailing of his pieces and in the shapes he proposes. Everything is superbly hand-made item by item. The item is hand turned with great precision and features a bare clay interior surface. This urn will hold up to 50 g of rolled oolong. The lid sits snuggly into the main body making it a good choice for a small tea aging project. Our selection features two styles of knobs: one round and the other with a flat top. You can choose the one you prefer when selecting this item. Finally, the finishing is certainly one of its main attractive features. The two-tone tea dust glaze, or Chayemo Glaze, of mustard yellow speckle over black has been selectively brushed off in some areas giving the pot an attractive weathered look and even reveals a nice frise on the crown of its main body. Signed and dated by the artist. Handmade in Taiwan.

This tea urn is beautiful – the glaze is nice, the shape is nice as well and I’m glad I purchased it ; with that said, here are two words of caution for potential future buyers.
First, the color rendition in the photographs is not precise ; the color of the actual item is closer to olive green than forest green. This does not bother me, and I still find the urn pretty ; still, I was a bit surprised when opening the package.
Second, there is a rather strong earthly smell when first opening the urn. It will eventually fade away, but it takes a bit of time ; to speed this process up, I simply put some tea in after preliminary cleaning, and it seems to absorb the odor, replacing the earthly smell.
Overall I’m pleased with this urn and recommand it. Shipping’s been incredibly fast !
