Another classic tea cup shape gets re-interpreted here by Bai Mu Quan's workshop. We chose to have this design moulded to ensure consistency in shape when considering a set of them. Nevertheless, this is far from being a mass-produced item as these cups are moulded one by one and corrected individually by an apprentice before being handed over to Master Quan for firing and glazing. This lower flared cup design becomes a true canvas to the artistry of Bai Mu Quan's master glazing skills. A single coat ash glaze is featured in this series which delivers a vast array of terracotta shades over a greyish base. The satin mat feel of this glaze somewhat resembles the hues and textures obtained from wood firing at a fraction of the price! Finally, you may wish to pair this fine cup with the matching Ash Glazed Saucer.
