We've received many requests for larger size cups for solo introspections or everyday practical use. This larger half-moon shaped cup is one of a few larger cup offerings from Bai Mu Quan's studios. We chose to have this design moulded to ensure consistency in shape when considering a set of them. Nevertheless, this is far from being a mass-produced item as these cups are moulded one by one and corrected individually by an apprentice before being handed over to Master Quan for firing and glazing. This lower flared cup design becomes a true canvas to the artistry of Bai Mu Quan's master glazing skills. The half-moon shape is particularly appealing when one considers the mesmerizing patterns that form both on the inside and outer surface of the cup. This is further exemplified by the dazzling Tianmu 天目 (called Tenmoku in Japan) black hare's fur glaze executed with deep browns and black overlays on golden yellow accents that will handsomely match any darker clay pots in our clay collection. Like all the work featured in our Handcrafted section, each item is made one by one and is signed by the artist. Handmade in Taiwan.
