Blue Hare’s Fur Drip Glaze Classic Chawan
This exquisite piece has a shape and finish reminiscent of Song dynasty tea bowls when tea was not infused but whipped in individual bowls much like it still is with ceremonial matcha tea in Japan. This classic shape features a prominent foot left bare from the glaze, a delicately fluted lip which is further enhanced by a contrasting brown hue all along the edge and a a controlled drip along the bottom edge of the glaze as if it was melting. This last feature is very hard to execute successfully. The stunning Tianmu 天目 (Tenmoku in Japan) blue hare's glaze with vibrant cobalt blue accents is simply mesmerizing to look at and will be sure to contrast beautifully with the vibrant green of your matcha creations or any of your infused teas. This item is hand made one by one undergoes a complex and precise glazing technique that requires multiple firings that exemplifies the artistry of Bai Mu Quan's master glazing skills. Like all the work featured in our Handcrafted section, each item is made one by one and is signed by the artist. Handmade in Taiwan.
