This is a new bigger 400 ml teapot than the classic Shui Ping pot we were featuring before. It still comes from the same workshop of skilled ceramic craftspeople. What makes it even more precious is its unique hand-painted fish pond scene and scriptures by renowned Taiwanese artist Bai Zong-Ping. We are privileged to feature more of his work this spring with the hope of featuring more in the near future. Not only is he a master potter in his own right, he is also an exceptionally gifted painter and sculptor with a lively and colourful palette. His canvases remain ceramic objects he crafts in the pure tradition of instilling beauty to useful objects. There is also whimsical side to the artist which is highlighted in the little details he puts in the decoration of his pots. This is exemplified by the unique braided cord that he attaches to the lid of each pot he makes in this series. We've seen many in his studio and can attest that each one is different. Of course, we chose the prettiest one! Needless to say, this item is unique, signed by the artist, and proudly handcrafted in Taiwan. A set of 6 hand-painted cups featuring the same fish pond design is available as a perfect complement to this unique teapot.
