Laoyan Clay Large Tea Urn, 1200 ml

This beautiful and quite affordably priced urn is made from Laoyan clay, meaning old rock clay. It is a coarser grit crushed stone material that produces nicely textured, more porous stoneware items. Very often, different coloured grit are mixed together to give it a distinctive rustic look, like it is the case with our Laoyan Clay range. This material is perfect to make tea storage urns with. Since it is first molded into shape the unfinished inside surface is smoother. After molding, the urn is spun on a traditional potter’s wheel to engrave the circle pattern on the inside. This urn will match with all of our Laoyan wares as well as Miaoli clay wares but its rustic looks will also fare well with any contrasting elements in your tea equipage. Its 1200ml volume will hold 200g of our Shanlinxi High Mountain Black Tea as the attached picture will attest. This converts to 500g if you are more into rolled oolong tea. We just love lifting the lid of this nice urn every morning for our breakfast tea instead of unfolding a plastic bag!  Hand-crafted in Taiwan.
