Small is beautiful when it comes to bringing out the multi-dimensional character of a Taiwanese Oolong. This 250 ml Glass Gongfu Teapot (usable capacity of 200 ml when filles up to the lid’s lip, as pictured) is a perfect versatile companion for first explorations into steeping tea gongfu style: in multiple successive infusions of the same leaves. Don’t get us wrong, we didn’t say this was a beginner’s teapot! This instrument has its merits for all levels of tea enthusiasts. The neutral qualities of glass are perfect to reflect the olfactory and gustatory information the leaves without altering them. And don’t let the price fool you, this is well designed and well made item! Its tolerances and precision is surprising for a hand-made item. It handles nicely and the pour is generous and precise. The spout also features a neat little stainless steel filter which can be removed for cleaning or permanently, if you prefer it that way. Pair this pot with the Classic Glass Tea Pitcher and you get a perfect gongfu tea making set for a mere $20 (or less, sometimes)! At this price, the best of Taiwan’s teas and tea making traditions have become even more accessible. Happy explorations! Made in China.

I love my new glass teapot! It is the right size to brew for 1-3 people, looks simple but perfect. The wire coil around the spout will keep out large leaves but small bits can still get through, so use a filter if you are fussy about not drinking the bits.

Finally a gongfu glass teapot with a good fitting lid.
It is so well designed that the lid doesn’t wobble around even when you pour fast, and it’s easy to measure the amount of water you’re using just by looking at it (the handle helps to be more precise).
Much better and even compared to other more expensive shui ping glass teapots.
The glass thickness is perfect in my opinion. It’s not like others that break easily because they’re made of ultra thin and delicate glass. Instead, this one is thick enough to feel solid and balanced while still keeping the teapot lightweight.
The price is right.
