When making larger volumes of tea is required or for the get the best out of teas that fare better in a little more water, like Taiwanese black teas, or aged teas, and of course pu’er, you might wish to consider this finely crafted larger gaiwan. The design is impeccable and it is executed with great precision. The bowl sits very snug in the deep recess of the dish preventing it from slipping when manipulating the gaiwan. This also allows the user to slide his fingers easily under the dish to grasp it securely. The lid features a deep arc and a crater style knob with a generous diameter for easy handling. The thicker walls of the bowl taper nicely to a fine edge making the pour very elegant. This is another item wonderfully crafted by our Ivory Porcelain workshop. Handcrafted in Taiwan.

Once again a lovely and very well made gaiwan.
The capacity however, is only about 125nl under the lid, which is disappointing since i was looking forward for a usable capacity of at least 150ml.
I think the capacity should be measured based on the amount that can be held up to the lid, and not to the brim of the cup.

Feels like commercial grade durability. Solid and easy to use with full stack grip. The two I received hold 150 ml of water with the lid on without tea in it. I liked the first one I received so much I ordered a second.
