Larger Wen Dan Purple Clay Teapot, 250 ml
Wen Dan shaped teapots find quite an appeal because of their rounded modern lines. They also make superb tea! This new addition to our selection of cast clay is made by a new collaborator established near Yingge; the historical hub of all ceramic industries in Taiwan. This small family workshop has been making clay wares since many generations. This larger 250 ml size makes a perfect daily pot for your daily morning tea or any other thirsty moments during the day. The 15 seconds pour out is precise and follows a beautiful fine arc. Like all the items that comprise our new series of Taiwanese made clay ware, they are impeccably made with very precise tolerances and great precision in the hand finishing. The walls are thin and even; the spout and handle are straight and perfectly aligned. What we particularly like is that this workshop does not add a dye to their base red clay to create this purple coloured one. The main pot elements are all molded in red clay and a purple slip is added to the outside to turn it into a purple pot. Only pure clay that was tested to be free of heavy metals and contaminants gets in contact with your tea. Not only is this a good introductory pot into the world of unglazed clay ware but, first and foremost, it is a good quality teapot that will be sure to render years of good service at a fraction of the cost of similar quality authentic Yixing ware. Made in Taiwan. This teapot is also available in Red Clay and a smaller 135 ml size in red clay .
