Manzu Gongfu Porcelain Teapot, 100 ml
Some may recognize this Mǎnzú 滿足 teapot as an emblematic shape from a popular brand of Taiwanese tea related ceramics and rightfully so. The truth is that this teapot design is uniquely Taiwanese and a good example of what characteristics are sought after to make a pot of good Taiwanese rolled oolong tea. First, the porcelain material is all indicated for fragrant rolled oolongs. It mirrors all the fragrant intricacies of the tea without masking any of the delicate aromatics. A relatively thin walled body with a wide opening makes loading and especially unloading the unfurled leaves a breeze. The seven very generous holes of the hexagonal-shaped filter allows quick emptying of the vessel through the short spout when the tea is ready. Finally, the high position fo the fine handle is ergonomically correct and allows a good grip of the pot with the tip of the fingers while being able to hold the lid with the index. The pot offers a precise stream for pouring directly to cups or, as most do here, directly into a tea pitcher. This pot is superbly made and finished with very high tolerances in the seat and seal of the lid and the alignement of the spout and handle. It matches beautifully with the New Elegant Tea Pitcher and any item of our Ivory Porcelain Collection. Also available in either Purple or Red Clay. A joy to use for your daily tea introspections or more ceremonial gatherings. Handcrafted in Taiwan.
