Mauve Hare's Fur with Vermillion Ring Classic Chawan
This exquisite piece has a shape and finish reminiscent of Song dynasty tea bowls when tea was not infused but whipped in individual bowls much like it still is with ceremonial matcha tea in Japan. This classic shape features a prominent foot left bare of glazing and a delicately fluted lip which is further enhanced by a contrasting pale azur hue all along the edge. The stunning Tianmu 天目 (Tenmoku in Japan) mauve hare's fur glaze is enhanced by a vibrant vermillion ring and is simply mesmerizing to look at and will be sure to contrast beautifully with the lush green of your matcha creations or any of your infused teas. This item is hand made one by one and undergoes a complex and precise glazing technique that requires multiple firings that exemplifies the artistry of Bai Mu Quan's master glazing skills. Like all the work featured in our Handcrafted section, each item is made one by one and is signed by the artist. Handmade in Taiwan.
