Meishan High Mountain Qing Xin Oolong Tea
Our Qing Xin Oolong crop from Meishan comes from a well-established growing area which was one of the first to grow higher mountain teas in Yunlin County. Meishan sits between Shanlinxi up north, and Alishan further south and was one of the first high-mountain tea growing areas to be developed in central Taiwan, well before Shanlinxi and Alishan. The Huang family that produces this tea is one of the pioneering settlers of these beautiful coastal mountains. If you like the teas from the surrounding areas you should give Meishan teas a try. In fact, a lot of tea originating from Meishan is sold in the market as Alishan teas without the higher sticker price associated with the Alishan “brand”. This Qing Xin Oolong has the typical green, crisp pastoral notes with hints of mountain flowers that charms the nose. The palate will immediately be pleased by the ample creamy texture and taste that evokes fresh buttered green beans with hints of sweetness. It is a high mountain tea fashioned according to the recent trend of making very low-oxidised oolongs. All in all, it is a very satisfying cup that bears the characteristic generous qualities of high mountain teas at a very affordable price. This tea is our best value high-mountain Qing Xin Oolong and it is made by one of the most experienced high-mountain tea-making families in Taiwan. You simply can't go wrong in trying it. If you've enjoyed any of our past iterations, you should definitely give this these 2023 productions a try!
