Our Refined Turret Teapot is our ultimate instrument for all lightly curled full-leaf teas like Bao Zhongs or any of our Sun Moon Lake district black teas. When considering cross-straight teas, you may include Dan Cong and Wuyi Oolongs to the list. Consider the large 65 mm lid opening through which the long twisted leaves will gently fall into the pot without having to inflict breakage to them. The tower shape of the pot makes it easy to visualize your personal leaf to water ratio and provides good capacity for black tea making. The large beak style spout pours quickly so as to not over-steep your teas. A real pleasure to work with. Porcelain is lightweight, hard-wearing (despite common misconceptions), offers precise tolerances and great precision in the finished products, if they are well made, of course. It is a perfectly neutral material as opposed to unfinished clays that colour the taste of the tea. When making fragrant teas like high mountain oolongs, porcelain acts like a mirror to reflect all of the aromas and taste out of the leaves.
