Organic Sanxia Pre-Qingming Qing Xin White Tea
This white tea was one of nicest surprises last year when we introduced it for this first time on Taiwan Tea Crafts. It truly reminds us in spirit and in style of the work we are doing with our very own Jade Visions Organic White Tea, which unfortunately could not be produced this year. Similarities are there: First, it is a white tea made from the magnificent Qing Xin cultivar that is also responsible for all the prestigious fragrant high mountain teas of Taiwan and, as the picture will attest, made from a fine plucking of very young leaves with a generous amount of buds, just like ours was. Secondly, it is made by a family that's been transforming leaves from this cultivar, in the mountains south of Taipei, since Taiwan was a Japanese colony (1895 - 1945). Again, this is a similar story to our family, just not in the same community. Their heritage Bi Luo Chun Green Tea have been sold worldwide and have become references to qualify what is a Taiwanese green tea. This white tea is a more recent addition to their offerings, along with their Mixiang Black Tea which shares in the same sweet and light savoury finish of the liqueur. If you like Himalayan (read Darjeeling) white teas, you'll be in similar territory here. Meadow flowers and ripe cereal compose the smooth foundation on which hints of dried nuts and mangoes adds a touch fo sweetness and refreshes the palate. This is a generous tea which can be both enjoyed hot or cold but will reveal its full spectrum in a gaiwan through multiple infusions. This tea is available in very small lots and made exclusively for Taiwan Tea Crafts. Available until it's gone, like all ephemeral pleasures. We highly recommend it! Please note that both Spring 2024 and Spring 2023 iterations of this same tea are proposed on this page. Simply select the right season before selecting the bag format you desire.
