Classic lines inherited from centuries of teapot making tradition in China. A shape that has inspired all the different western interpretations of what is a teapot, and a good one for that matter. Our Classic Shui Ping Teapot is all of what is to be expected from a good tea making instrument in all situations, casual or fancier, and for any tea that the moment dictates. It gets re-interpreted here by Bai Mu Quan's workshop with one of their new signature finishes. Porcelain is used to make this pot for its high density and good insulation qualities. It is moulded to ensure consistency and precision in shape. Nevertheless, this is far from being a mass-produced item as these pots are moulded one by one and corrected individually by an apprentice before being handed over to Master Quan for firing and glazing. The ivory coloured base glazing features a fine grit satin texture. The Slate Grey coloured lid contrast in both colour and texture and is further highlighted by a fine ivory pin stripe and lid button. A high-gloss glazing seals the inside of the pot making it a neutral instrument suitable for any type of tea. Like all the work featured in our Handcrafted section, each item is made one by one and signed by the artist. Handmade in Taiwan.
